Impactive Innovation Hub is a registered nonprofit organization (Reg. No. OONGO/R/8341) based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, dedicated to catalyzing inclusive innovation for social good.
Originally founded in 2015 as Edulife Africa, we began as a company limited by guarantee focused on educational equity. In 2025, we transitioned into a nonprofit under the NGOs Act, 2002, reflecting our expanded mission in youth empowerment, systems change, and alternative financing.
We believe transformation happens when communities lead, systems adapt, and innovation becomes a way of solving—not just a tool.

Blue Innovation
Impactive has launched ocean innovation initiatives, including ocean clean-up campaigns and the Blue Innovation Challenges in 2023 and 2024, partnering with various stakeholders across Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania to promote marine conservation and sustainable blue economy solutions.

Circular Economy in Action
Impactive, in partnership with CuBE Innovation Hub, launched the WasteX Circular project in Zanzibar to scale solid waste management through a circular economy approach, providing communities with tools, training, and locally-built machines to collect, sort, and create marketable products while promoting sustainable recycling practices.

Inclusive Education
Between 2015 and 2020, Impactive (formerly Edulife Africa) implemented an inclusive education project in mainland Tanzania that leveraged digital technology to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban populations by providing equitable access to quality educational resources.

Under the Ocean Innovation initiative, Impactive trained women’s groups in circular economy innovation and provided them with essential equipment to support the development of sustainable, ocean-friendly solutions.

Impactive, in partnership with local authorities and CSOs in Zanzibar and Tanzania Mainland, supported the establishment of a Centre of Excellence to incubate circular economy innovations in solid waste management, with a focus on training, formalisation of actors, investor readiness, and business development.

Between 2015 and 2020, Edulife Africa (now Impactive) implemented an inclusive education initiative in mainland Tanzania focused on bridging the digital divide between rural and urban communities. We provide coding training for kids and drew inspiration from up‑to‑date tech programmes—like affordable local bootcamps in web development, data science, AI, and robotics—to ensure the curriculum was relevant and impactful
